I've been contemplating a Robonzo logo forever, something that represents me as a musician (and dare I say, as an artist). John Bonham made a big impression on me in my youth, so I always wanted something inspired by him. I also wanted something that represented my alter-ego/artist name “Robonzo.”
If you're a fan of Led Zeppelin and John Bonham, you likely see the influence. I initially gave an AI logo maker app a shot at it, but that didn't quite produce what I wanted. The concentric circle shapes weren't right, nor was the font. The font was easy enough to fix and after a good night's sleep, I had an idea of how to create the circle shapes I wanted. That day my logo was born.
It just so happened that I'd been wanting to refresh the website with a new theme. The new logo made that happen because it didn't render well on the original theme. I still have some tweaking to do on the website and possibly on the logo, but I'm overall happy with it. My next application of the logo will be on my drum set bass head. For that, I'll likely only use the concentric circular shapes.
Big ups to my good friend Fred Roy (aka Mississippi Fred) for bestowing me with the nickname “Robonzo” oh so many years ago.
